“It was regrettable. That was kind of an interaction with our fans seated near me,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “There was a large group of Cowboys fans—not Jets fans, Cowboys fans. The entire stadium was brimming with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further emphasized that the signal was completely unintentional, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply put up the incorrect digit,” he remarked. “It was accidentally done. This is sincere. Should you call it unplanned, you can. But it got resolved rapidly.”
