Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
