The former PM's foray to import American conservative media to the UK has drawn her nearer to divisive personalities such as Solomon.

He founded Just the News following backlash when allegations surfaced of pushing inaccurate reports about Joe Biden's anticorruption effort in Ukraine, as well as controversial stories about one-time diplomat to that country.

"It is necessary to treat people like Truss with seriousness, although you may not want to accept their words at face value," stated Rob Flaherty, who worked in the Biden White House.

"Observers witnessed how in the recent campaign the former president utilized that media network to disseminate his views. Certainly that ecosystem spreads and shapes debate abroad. It looks fairly obvious to me that the circumstances in the Britain are comparable to what allowed this non-mainstream media network to prosper in the US."

Professor Alan Finlayson, said the internet-based conservative network was already exerting influence in Britain.

"Online platforms is borderless," he said. "There is a certain milieu within which content circulates – at times taking an extreme form and sometimes less so – but which is networked."

Professor Hinton said the expansion of the internet-based right wing in the United Kingdom lately meant the "chance to have a growing impact is substantial."
