The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Chose the Incorrect Critical Role Track

This latest animated series, the most recent animated series from the beloved role-playing group, revealed an exciting introductory sequence. It showcases our favorite cast of misfits, misfits, and rogues kicking ass and taking names, while teasing at several agonizing backstories for key figures such as the voice actor's wizard Caleb, and Travis Willingham's warlock orc, Fjord.

Overall, the opening appears stunning. However, I felt that an element was missing in the song choice.

The intro employs "Welcome to Wildemount", an exceptional song composed by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. It's a track from the official score of the same name, the second release put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's record label their music brand. It's a great nostalgic option, and I believe that devotees of the sequel series will love its presence.

Personally, The series' opening doesn't quite capture the excitement and excitement that accompanied the show's actual-play adventure. "It's Your Turn", written by singer-songwriter Jason Charles Miller, became an immediate hit in my view when it was initially unveiled in 2015, and it improved further when cast member the performer added lyrics to the tune for the animated Campaign 2 opening in 2018.

Featuring vocals from one actress, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the song was memorable and fun. Back then, I hadn't seen the follow-up series yet, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my device. It's a song that excites you before you start an episode of adventurous fun.

The show's intro with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the same chords in my opinion. It's a grand piece of music, but from what I know of the group, I can't help but feel that its mood is somewhat mismatched.

Naturally, Critical Role has stated that the animated show will have some changes and differences from the original live sessions. An adjusted mood for its opening appears as among these.

The Mighty Nein will be released on Prime Video from November 19. If you can't wait until then, or wish to prepare to get to know the personas of the second series, the original episodes are available on the audio platform and the video site.
